Managing Director, CPA, MBA
Marie is the Managing Director of Cover & Rossiter and head of the Corporate Tax practice. Since joining the firm in 1997, she has applied her extensive experience in tax research and corporate tax planning to assist many clients in addressing a wide variety of situations. Marie focuses on finding tax-advantaged ways to operate companies during the various stages of the business cycle to influence future business growth and development.
Her diverse accounting history includes positions as a senior accountant at another local accounting firm, a staff accountant position with an accounting firm in Maine as well as operations manager at a nonprofit organization.
She earned her undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of Delaware. In recognition of scholastic achievement she was selected for membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for the school of business. In addition, she had been a guest lecturer on a variety of tax topics at the University’s Academy of Lifelong Learning.
Her professional affiliations include membership in the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants, Tax Committee of the Delaware Chamber of Commerce and the Wilmington Tax Group. She is an active member of the Newark Morning Rotary Club and a Founder in the Delaware Fund for Women.
Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three adult children and she loves to head to her cottage in Bethany whenever time allows. She enjoys reading and attending her husband’s high school football games.
