Cover & Rossiter is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. Staff accountants work under the supervision of a director, principal or manager.

They demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the firm’s systems and processes and are able to apply them with support and direction. They are able to document findings and express ideas clearly and concisely. They contribute to the team by handling challenges in a positive, professional manner, and effectively managing the demands of tax and audit deadlines. They demonstrate a commitment to the profession by working toward a CPA license.


In addition to the core competencies, the candidate will ideally have:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills and the ability to analyze figures
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently
  • Proficiency in researching and interpreting tax rules
  • Familiarity with accounting workpaper systems and MS Office products with an emphasis in Excel
