 JOANNE
KENNEY SHAVER, CPA
Joanne is
manager of our Delaware Advantage
Group. This group is responsible for financial
reporting for entities who have chosen Delaware as their
corporate home because of its favorable environment. These
entities include Delaware Investment Companies,
Delaware Business Trusts and Captive Insurance Companies.
Cover & Rossiter has been providing financial reporting
services to Delaware Investment Holdings for over 20
years. We work in coordination with local
attorneys and banks to provide our clients with the
most relevant financial information possible. We
can provide this financial information in a variety
of formats to provide our clients the option of
uploading our accounting files directly into their
own accounting systems.
Cover & Rossiter is the only Delaware-based independent
auditor currently authorized by the State Insurance
Department to perform audits of Captive Insurance
Companies. We are also a member of the Delaware
Captive Insurance Association. We have been
integrally involved in the Association since it was
formed in 2005. We are committed to making Delaware
a prominent domicile within the Captive Insurance
Industry.
Prior to joining the Cover & Rossiter staff in January 1998,
Joanne managed an office in downtown Wilmington that
housed approximately 15 Delaware Holding Companies
owned by the same United Kingdom parent. Her
responsibilities included all treasury, accounting
and nexus-related services, such as applying for the
Delaware Holding Company exemption and maintaining
corporate records in Delaware.
She previously worked with Laventhol & Horwath, CPAs in
Washington, DC. Her work included compilations,
reviews, audits and preparation of tax returns for
the firm’s middle-market clients. Joanne also worked
as an Assistant Controller for a large international
aircraft manufacturer headquartered in Arlington,
VA, where she prepared financial statements, budgets
and performed a variety of treasury-related
services.
A 1988 graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg,
MD, Joanne holds a BS in Accounting. She received
her CPA certificate from the District of Columbia in
1992. Joanne is currently the treasurer of the
Delaware Captive Insurance Association.
In her spare time, Joanne enjoys spending time with her
family.
