Position Qualifications

Paid Internships

Each year we look for college sophomores and juniors who are looking to start their career in a public accounting firm. We offer you the chance to kick-start your career by working 10-15 hours per week during tax season. Since school is your priority you can schedule your work hours around your class schedule. As summer projects become available, we offer those hours to the interns most interested and devoted to their future at our firm.

The interns showing the most promise and drive will be offered full-time positions upon graduation. With the experience of one or two tax seasons as an intern, the transition into your full-time career will be much smoother and faster.

To qualify, you must be a sophomore or junior Accounting Major and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Staff Accountant / Auditor (Entry level to 2 years experience)

Job duties include:

  • Corporate and Personal tax return preparation and research.
  • Assist with audits, compilations, and reviews.
  • Assist with small business accounting services.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and develop good time management habits.
  • Complete all work on a timely basis, meet assigned deadlines.
  • Exhibit excellent follow-up skills.
  • Must maintain organized files and take detailed notes.
  • Develop professional working relationships with clients and firm associates.
  • Develop a solid knowledge base in industry specific services.

Senior Tax Accountant (3 - 5 years experience)

Job duties include:

  • Manage client base.
  • Planning and preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Assist with audits, compilations, and reviews.
  • Assist with fieldwork planning and coordination.
  • Complete all work on a timely basis, meet assigned deadlines.
  • Mentor staff accountants.
  • Schedule, delegate, and review work.

  • Must be proficient with all computer hardware and software and be responsible for all office equipment.

Senior Auditor (3-5 years experience)

Job duties include

  • Ability to take charge of all aspects of a Client relationship including planning and conducting an audit engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with client personnel.
  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and full disclosure notes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in Client operations and/or weaknesses in systems of internal controls.
  • Identify other ways to add value to our services to our Clients.
  • Complete all work on a timely basis, meet assigned deadlines.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS. Must become an expert on GAAP as it pertains to Non-Profit organizations.
  • Learn and become proficient in ProSystems Tax software, EPace E-workpapers, BNA Depreciation software, and PPC Practice Aids.
  • Mentor/supervise staff accountants/auditors.
  • Schedule, delegate, and review work.
  • Participate in education programs and stay current with technical issues.
  • Must be proficient with all computer hardware and software and be responsible for all office equipment.
  • Assist other departments in tax and/or small business accounting on an as-needed basis.
  • Additional duties as required by business needs.

In addition to the core requirements we look for, the ideal candidate will have:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred or progressing toward certification.
  • 2-3 years of progressive responsibility as an auditor.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
  • Knowledge of PPC Engagement Practice Aids, E-Pace E-Work papers, and Prosystems Tax Software.
  • Knowledge of Non-Profit accounting issues including FAS-116 and -117 and Non-Profit tax law and tax forms including Forms 990, 990-T and 990-PF.

Tax Manager

In additional to the duties and requirements of a Senior Tax Accountant, we are looking for the following in a Manager:

  • CPA
  • 5-7 years public accounting or comparable experience.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience.
  • Assume full responsibility for engagements from scheduling through to completion.
  • Assist with marketing efforts.
  • Corporate and Individual tax return review and some preparation.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in Client operations.
  • Identify other ways to add value to our services to our Clients.
  • Manage departmental billing.
  • Mentor/groom Seniors and Supervisors for management positions.
  • Participate in education programs as an instructor or discussion leader.

Seasonal Accountant / Tax Preparer

Primary job duties will be 1040 tax preparation. This is a temporary, seasonal position with no benefits. You will have the option to work as little as 20 hours/week or up to 55 hours/week from January 15 through April 15.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive 1040 tax preparation experience.
  • Experience with ProSystems Fx Tax.

Assistant Network Administrator 

We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Assistant Network Administrator to provide support for 35 users with over 30 different software applications in a 12 server environment utilizing Microsoft technologies.

Schedule is flexible during normal business hours, afternoons are preferred.  Some after hour and weekend coverage is required as needed.  This is a minimum 20 hour work week. 

Job duties include: 

  • Evaluate, prioritize and resolve in a timely manner all incoming telephone, voicemail, email, and in-person requests for assistance from colleagues experiencing issues with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies on site and in the field.
  • Coordinate with vendors on equipment configuration and resolution of problems. Document and log specific hardware, software, and user errors and resolutions.
  • Install/update client and server software packages.
  • Assist in the administration of the company Exchange, Active Directory, File and Application servers.
  • Manage Backup Routine with Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec. 
  • Assist with VOIP phone system administration.  
  • Manage asset tracking of IT hardware and software.
  • Assist with web administration support.
  • Provide technical support to our clients as needed which may require on-site visits.

A Summary of our Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation and Work Schedules:
